Question:
What's the difference between Islam and Christianity?

Answer:
God's love and mercy be yours. I hope this finds you well. You have asked a great question.

The difference between Islam and Christianity all centers on the way to be in a relationship with God and the way to get into paradise.

Islam teaches that God told us all the things we need to do. Islam says that if we do those things then we might reach paradise. So according to the Koran and the Hadith you must believe the two Shahadats (confessions), do the 5 times daily prayers, give Zakat and make the Hajj in your life time if you are able. If you do all these things without fail you still might not get into paradise because God finally decides.

Christianity teaches that we have all failed to do what is good and right in the sight of God. We have not always loved God or loved the people around us like we should. Often we have had angry words or thoughts. For all these failures we deserve God's judgment. The Bible however teaches that God in his love and mercy saw that we were in need and could not live up to what was good and right. In his love he then sent a Savior. Islam teaches that Jesus was only a prophet meant to tell us what to do. The Bible says that Jesus was more than a prophet, he was the Savior who came to rescue us from the evil we have done. The Word of God tells us that Jesus took our place and suffered the punishment that we deserved. It's like a debt. If you owed millions of dollars and could not pay, everything you have could be taken. But what if a rich friend came and said that he had paid your bill and paid your debt. You would be free and wouldn't owe anything. That's what the Bible says Jesus did. Jesus paid for our sins (the evil that we had done, thought or spoken) and because of that we have peace with God and God's rich forgiveness. For this reason a Christian knows that he is going to paradise because it doesn't depend on the good things he does, it depends on what God has done for him.

Someone once said that Islam is a religion for good people, but Christianity is a religion for bad people, for people who have done wrong. The real question for you is what kind of person are you?

If you have any more questions on the differences please email. It is a big subject and I have given you only a short answer.
